Welcome To Some Good Cooking

What I have here is a few of my recipes that I love and want to share with you. I hope you enjoy them.

FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

All you need is some yellow corn meal, butter and green tomatoes.

Put enough butter in fry pan to cover bottom when heated. Slice green tomatoes thin. Take slices and coat both sides in yellow corn meal. Place in fry pan and cook until golden brown on both sides. Take them out and place on paper towels to drain. When cooled off a little, eat and enjoy.

NOTE: This will also work on yellow crook neck squash. Both of these are to die for.

GREEN TOMATO PIE

Into an unbaked pie shell---slice 1 medium green tomato or 2 small ones. Slice very thin.

Place in mixing bowl:
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup water
3 teaspoons vinegar

Mix all this together and pour over the sliced tomatoes in the pie shell, add a few little chunks of butter around the top of pie and place top crust on the pie and bake in 350 degree oven until nicely browned.

NOTE: This can be frozen. Make as above, but, don't cut steam slits in top crust until you are ready to bake.

Now, THIS is to Die for.
